Friday is allowed! We prepare delicious madeleines with chocolate chips and sit down with a good tea or hot chocolate. How about taking advantage of this holiday Friday to take a break from this crazy world? If Christmas is important to you and you like to think and prepare a thousand details in advance, now is the time to start thinking about it! For my part, I like to imagine the decoration in advance and list the gourmet gifts that I will be able to prepare. It’s always fun to make homemade sweets for those you love…
This year, I even started preparing recipes for our holiday meals to freeze them because I will be away from home for a while.
Similarly, when it comes to indulging in a sweet treat, I really wouldn’t consider opening a packet of industrial biscuits (unless they’re top quality and pretty local!).
It is for all these reasons that these madeleines are a perfect candidate to satisfy my sweet tooth: they require only a few ingredients and these are very basic. If you don’t have chocolate flakes, you can substitute chocolate chips.
The madeleines are placed in a very hot oven and the temperature lowered so that the famous little bump so recognizable develops.
It takes a little longer than opening a package and taking the biscuit out to eat it, but it’s infinitely better and the good smell that escapes from the oven is well worth the minutes spent preparing them 😜
