The band featured vocalist Steevi Jaimz on vocals, who had a more gruff voice that contributed to the band sounding less like a bubblegum glam band and more like a sleaze rock band in the vein of L.A. Young And Crazy was a fantastic debut, but the band parted ways with Steevi Jaimz after this release. While they continued on with other vocalists, and still do today, they never reached the level that they achieved with the first album. Young And Crazy was one of the best glam metal releases of the ’80s. Silent Rage released their debut album “Shattered Hearts” in 1987 The band scored a minor hit with the song “Rebel With A Cause”.

TWISTED SISTER – “YOU CAN’T STOP ROCK ‘N’ ROLL” – Just before Dee Snider & the boys became really famous. I find this album to be just as inspiring today as it was in 1983. They took turns playing their hits and then had a jam at the end. Probably one of the finest Nwobhm bands with the great Court In the act needs no introduction to those who knows nwobhm but still criminally underated.
The first few singles, “Don’t Go Throwing Roses On My Grave” and “The First Dead Body I Ever Saw” are further evidence of this, as both tracks are filled with vivid detail that clearly paint a picture in your mind as the songs play. As we slowly emerge of out exile, this has the potential to be one of the highlights of the first part of 2022. Ratt were so on top of their game from 1983 to 1986 — yielding three albums that remain high watermarks of the Sunset Strip scene — that too many tracks to mention would qualify for this list. However, “Round And Round” is the easy top choice, a wicked song with nonsensical lyrics featuring a twin guitar attack that rivals Judas Priest.
You may not agree with me, but again, that’s a different topic for another article. Now, Asylum is a record that went gold and was by definition “popular.” So, what’s it doing on this list? Well, first of all, this list was never happening without a KISS record, not for me anyway. I guess what I mean is, while it’s not a prototypical KISS album per se, it is a great Hair/Glam album.
I always thought Van Halen kick started the sound & image, but aside from VH and the first two David Lee Roth albums with Steve Vai, I don’t care if I ever hear or more importantly see that stuff ever again. Oh, and talking about the girls in Vixen still being hot, I saw that Bands Reunited, and that was absolutely my thought when I saw Roxi Petrucci. When she sat down behind the drums and twirled a drumstick at the start of the song they showed them playing, it was like it was 1988 all over again.

Also if you haven’t got the chance go check out his more recent work in Italian progressive metal/AOR band Headless its pretty great but anyway Madison from what I know is the man’s first band. This is a really underrated melodic heavy metal gem that really deserves far more recognition than it gets. It is sort of reminiscent of fellow Swedes Europe’s fucking awesome first two albums at times but I would certainly say this album has a little bit more darker qualities unlike the more magical feel of those Europe albums. And it laid out the ground work for the next thirteen years of rock. And when Sammy Hagar came on board in 1986 they got even better.
To this day, he remains a recluse, much to the chagrin of his fans around the world. We most likely will never hear the sweet sounds of Vito’s six-string again. That alone makes each and every album he did record something special. This hard rock band from Sweden has been an under-the-radar gem for years now.
